The Bluebird has long been a major model for Nissan, in Japan where it was available in Datsun’s range, or for export. In Europe, this name disappeared in 1990, replaced by the Primera. The first-generation series 310 was released in 1959. Here we have the Japanese 1600 SSS version of the third series, called 510, sold from 1968 to 1973.

In Japan, the third-generation Laurel was launched in January 1977. This medium-size rear-wheel drive sedan was 4.52 m/178 in.-long. Called 200L for export, this model was sold by Datsun abroad and had a different front grille, which made it look like a Mercedes. At the time, the name Nissan was primarily reserved for the Japanese market.
