Isuzu VehiCross silver (Premium X) 1:43

The extravagant Isuzu VehiCROSS is based on the Trooper 4X4, also sold in Europe under the name Opel Monterey. The VehiCROSS had a double career in Japan between 1997 and 1999 and the U.S. between 1999 and 2001. Its homologation in Europe was unfortunately too restrictive for Isuzu. It is reproduced here by Premium X. Also available on Minicarweb, by Hi-Story and Ebbro, in other colours.

Isuzu Aska CX MKII (IXO) 1:43

IXO reproduced here a rarity in Japanese car production. The first-gen Aska, sold from 1983 to 1990, was based on the General Motors J platform, ie a twin of the Opel Ascona. But this second-gen Aska, released in 1990, was in fact the first-generation Subaru Legacy, with a modified front grille. From 1994, the Aska became a twin of the Honda Accord.

Isuzu Gemini ZZ by Lotus (Norev) 1:43

The Gemini was certainly the most European Isuzu, with its Italian design (Giugiaro) and ad hoc intervention of the German tuner Irmscher and of Lotus UK. The latter, in 1988, tweaked the suspension of this version, which also had specific wheels. The engine, shared with a GTI version, was a 1.6 liter 16-valve developing 135 hp.

This Gemini is far from looking like its original version, also reproduced by Norev. Launched in May 1986 (here you can see the 1987 facelifted version), this Isuzu was equipped with a 1.5 liter turbo boosting its power of 73 to 120 hp. Its body was designed the German tuner Irmscher, who gives energy to the Giugiaro's original drawing.

Isuzu manufactured cars for a long time, but is mostly known for its trucks and its diesel engines. Its most famous product is the Elf, reproduced here at 1:43 scale by Tomica (Limited Vintage series) in the first version of 1959. It was then a small truck, equipped with a 1.5-liter petrol engine. A 2-liter diesel arrived in 1960: the first one in the Japanese production.
