Josef Walter was born in Bohemia, in an area now located in the Czech Republic. He produced two and three-wheelers, before manufacturing automobiles from 1913. The Walter brand, also an aircraft engine maker, produced its own cars until 1958, then built Fiats under license. This WZ (stands for Walter Zubaty, the latter being the designer of the car) was produced from 1921.
