Honda City Turbo (Ebbro) 1:43

The cute City (only 3.38 m/133 in. long!) was released in 1981 and had a brilliant career, only in Japan. Its turbo version, reproduced here, was launched at the end of 1982. The original 1.2-litre 4 cylinder was reworked and its power increased from 63 to 100 hp. The City received a big hump on the hood, an asymmetrical front grille and massive bumpers, but remained under 700kg/1,540 lbs.

Toyota iQ Japan (Ebbro) 1:43

Launched in November 2008 in Japan, the iQ was supposed to revolutionize the world of city cars, with its 4 seats within an overall length of 2,99 m/117.5 in. It was a failure. However, this model remains interesting. Here, we have the Japanese version, where the brand logo on the front is replaced by the Netz logo, one of Toyota’s four dealer networks in the country.

Isuzu VehiCross red (Ebbro) 1:43

The extravagant Isuzu VehiCROSS is based on the Trooper 4X4, also sold in Europe under the name Opel Monterey. The VehiCROSS had a double career in Japan between 1997 and 1999 and the U.S. between 1999 and 2001. Its homologation in Europe was unfortunately too restrictive for Isuzu. It is reproduced here by Ebbro. Also available on Minicarweb, by Hi-Story, in green.

Here we have the first version of a small Toyota truck, launched in 1954. Afterwards, it was renamed Toyoace. On the van, the inscription in Japanese katakana syllabary (read "shoe-my") designates the Chinese dumplings that the company Kiyôken cooked. This name is repeated on the doors of the truck, written in Japanese kanjis. Above it, the word “kabushiki” means "limited company".

75 years of Toyota: S800 (Ebbro) 1:43

When talking about a small Japanese sports car called S800 and manufactured in the 1960s, everyone thinks Honda. However, there was also a Toyota S800. The 3.58 meter-long car, weighing 580 kg only, was equally astonishing with its 790 cc (45 hp) engine. The S800, inspired from the 1962 Publica Sport concept, is sold in a box celebrating Toyota’s 75 years of automotive history.
