BMW 2002 Turbo (Spark) 1:43

BMW 2002 Turbo white (Spark) 1:43

What we have here is an M3 ahead of time. Introduced in 1973, the 2002 Turbo was distinct from the rest of BMW’s range "02": note the wide wheel arches, the specific decoration and the rear and front spoilers. On the latter, "Turbo 2002" was written backwards so that it could be better seen from rear-view mirrors... The 2-litre developed 170 hp, 40 hp more than the version without turbo.

VW Dune Buggy Meyers Manx 1964 (Spark) 1:43

VW Dune Buggy Meyers Manx 1964 (Spark) 1:43

In October 1964, Bruce F. Meyers, winner of the Art Center School in Los Angeles, imagined this first Buggy based on a Volkswagen. The Californian had many imitators and over time. American, British and German small car manufacturers (including Karmann) adapted the principle: take a VW Beetle at the end of its life, “skin” it, shorten it and rebody it, equipped with a more powerful engine.

Chevrolet Corvette C8 orange (Spark) 1:43

This eighth-generation Corvette C8, released in 2019 and whose origins date back to 1953, is completely overhauled. It is even almost a revolution. The engine remains a V8 (it has been a tradition since 1955), borrowed from the C7 and updated. But if its predecessor was a front mid-engine sports car, this C8 is the first mid-engine Corvette.

Lancia Delta Integrale EVO Martini (Spark) 1:43

Originally, the Delta is a modest compact car launched in 1979 and designed by Giugiaro. Ford GT40 MKIV N°1 Le Mans 1967 (Spark) 1:43

Fiat X1/9 prototipo (Spark) 1:43

This small two-seater mid-engined sports car, designed by Gandini for Bertone, was introduced at the end of 1972. Spark replicates here the prototype. Four of them had been assembled between 1974 and 1975 (including one homologated to be road-legal). This model could have become a world rally champion if Fiat had not preferred the 131, at the last moment.

Lotus Elite type 14 green (Spark) 1:43

When production ceased in 1963, just over 1,000 units of the first Elite, also called Type 14, had been made since its launch, in 1957. The fiberglass monocoque construction of this coupe was very innovative. Compact (3.76 m / 148 in.-long) and very light (half a ton), the Elite achieved sports car performance. The name Elite was used again between 1974 and 1982 for another larger coupe.

Citroën DS Paris-Dakar 1980 (Spark) 1:43

This French icon caused a sensation at the 1955 Salon de Paris, with its spectacular silhouette and its hydropneumatic suspension. Citroën manufactured it until 1975, but its career was not entirely finished, as it took part to many rallies. This is the case of this DS 23, which participated in the 2nd Paris-Dakar Rally in 1980, but did not manage to finish the race.

Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 (Spark) 1:43

Designed by Ital Design, the Alfetta coupe was released in May 1974 with a 1.8-litre engine. Two years later, a 1.6-litre and a 2-litre were added to the range. At the end of 1980, the GTV received a facelift and larger black bumpers (reproduced here). That is when the famous 2.5-litre V6 appeared. This 130 hp 4-cylinder 2-litre version became the standard version.

Porsche 911 Carrera S 992 orange (Spark) 1:43

The famous 911 has been updated many times since its first generation, in 1963. If its architecture, with the rear-mounted flat-6, has never been questioned, there is no similitude between the 992 reproduced here, presented in late 2018, and the original model. Here we have a Carrera S coupe, whose 3-litre turbo engine develops 450 hp.

VW-Porsche 914/6 (Spark) 1:43

This convertible launched in 1969 is the result of an agreement between Volkswagen and Porsche. For the occasion, a VW-Porsche brand was even created, but in most countries, Porsche was the dealer for this model. The 914/4 receives a VW 4-cylinder, while the 914/6 gets a Porsche flat-6. The latter, produced until 1972, represented 3% of the total sales of the 914.
