The first “squat stance” sedan called coupe was not the 2004 Mercedes CLS. In 1962, Rover imagined that principle on the 1958 P5. The coupe was still a 4-door, but its roof was 6 cm/2.36 in. lower and its pillars were thinner. The P5B (B stands for Buick, which provided the 3.5-litre) was released in late 1967 and could be distinguished by its four headlights. Its production ceased in 1973.
