Artz is a German coachbuilder whose activity started in the early 1970s. The name is little known but its cars enjoy a certain reputation because of their unusual appearance: Artz made a station wagon variant of an Audi Quattro as well as a VW Scirocco station wagon and pickup truck. This company is famous for its Porsche 924 wagon and its 928 Kombi (here): two units were made in 1979.

In 1975, Porsche launched the 924, first equipped with an Audi engine and only available in coupe. No convertible variant was planned, and even less a wagon. For the latter, the small company Artz did the job. Around twenty units of the 924 Turbo, redesigned to look like a Carrera GT, took the appearance of unusual shooting brakes.
