Description
Already named Astra in Vauxhall’s catalogue in the UK, this Opel Kadett is the first front-wheel drive of the line. The range is launched in autumn 1979 but this tonic GT/E variant was only released in spring 1983. Available with three or five doors, the car borrows its 1.8-litre injection engine (115 hp) from the Ascona to better compete with the Volkswagen Golf GTI and its 112 hp.
