In Japan, kei cars (keijidosha) are part of Honda's sales. These mini cars benefit from lighter taxes if they comply with a regulated overall size. The first-gen N-One was released in 2012 and was replaced by a second generation in November 2020. Only available with 5 doors, this model is equipped with a 658 cc 3-cylinder engine, either naturally-aspirated (58 hp) or turbo (64 hp).

Since its first generation in 1972, the Civic has undergone many changes in Japan, Europe and the United States, where it has often received specific bodies. This Type R is based on the Civic launched in 2012 and primarily intended for Europe. This 2-litre turbo 310 hp version was released in 2015 and was produced for two years only.

Unveiled in 1989, the NSX was the highest performance road-going model that Honda had ever made, equipped with a 274 hp 6-cylinder VTEC mid-mounted engine. Production began in 1990. This NSX-R, released in May 2002, was lighter, with enhanced aerodynamics, an air intake on the bonnet, a rear diffuser and a spoiler. The fixed headlights appeared in December 2001 on the range.
