The Stock Market crash of 1929 devastated the American car production, but it did not discourage Packard, which never ceased to manufacture opulent cars. IXO calls this 1938 cabriolet Victoria, without specifying the type of engine. It is probably a Twelve version, with a V12 engine so, which came in support of the 8-cylinder Packard Eight.

Brooklin continues to develop the 1954 range of the American brand Packard, which existed from 1899 to 1958. This extra-long version was bodied by Henney, a company specialized in the transformation of Packard models, generally into ambulances and hearses. Passenger cars were also available, as evidenced by this 8-seater limousine.

In 1930, Cadillac released the famous V16, followed by the V12 in 1931. Packard, Cadillac’s competitor in the U.S. market of luxury cars, could not stand by idly. The V12, on this LeBaron Speedster, was launched in 1934. Unfortunately, Packard was still suffering from the Great Depression and rapidly had to develop more economic models to keep its head above water.
