Volkswagen Scirocco MKI red (KK Scale) 1:18

The year 1974 was historic for VW, which in May introduced the Golf intended to be the successor to the famous Beetle. But as soon as March, the Scirocco was also unveiled. This coupe version of the Golf, beautifully designed by Giugiaro (as was the Golf), is here reproduced in TS trim, with four round headlights. The standard Scirocco had only two rectangle headlights.

Volkswagen T1 Samba green (Maxichamps) 1:43

Launched in 1950, the famous T1 is the second Volkswagen model sold after the Beetle. This explains why its name is Type 2. But this first-generation Kombi is also retroactively called T1, to distinguish it from the updated versions that followed! Here we have the lovely minibus Samba, produced in 1951, with its 8 roof windows and its opening canvas roof.

Volkswagen Golf II GTI black (Maxichamps) 1:43

After the successful first generation launched in 1974, the Golf repeted the same story in 1983. This new version grew slightly, and was designed in-house, without the help of Giugiaro like the first time. The GTI came back in 1984, equipped with the great 1.8-litre engine (112 hp). Here, Maxichamps reproduced the 1985 model year, recognizable by the front grille with four headlights.

VW Karmann Ghia convertible (IXO) 1:43

VW Karmann Ghia convertible blue (IXO) 1:43

This famous variant based on the VW Beetle was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in autumn 1953. Designed by Ghia, manufactured in Germany by Karmann, this model was integrated into the VW catalogue in 1955, when the coupe was launched. The convertible was introduced in 1957. Here we have a pre-1961 model with the first front air inlets, which were refined afterwards.

Volkswagen T4 Multivan (IXO) 1:43

Volkswagen T4 Multivan red (IXO) 1:43

In 1990, Volkswagen deeply updated its famous utility vehicle: its bodywork is more modern, but it is not the most important. The initial architecture of the Beetle, rear-wheel and rear-mounted engine, is completely abandoned: the T4 is now a front-wheel drive! The model car we have here is the Multivan version.
