In 1937, the 3.6-litre 6-cylinder Alvis was increased to 4.3 litres. This final update of this block was not resumed after the war. 204 models equipped with this engine were produced. This 1938 4-door convertible tourer version was designed by Cross & Ellis, a Coventry coachbuilder founded by Harry Cross and Alf Ellis in 1919, whose business ceased in 1938.
