In 2001, the Vanquish became the top-of-the-range Aston Martin model, until the arrival of its successor, the discrete DBS, in 2008. Massive, aggressive, the Vanquish, whose chassis combined carbon and aluminium, was first equipped with a 5.9-litre V12 (466 hp), increased to 528 hp on the Vanquish S in 2004. This Vanquish retired in 2007 and the name was reused in 2012.
