Available from 1936, the 170V is the most popular prewar Mercedes model. Up to 18,000 units were made each year. The letter V meant Vorn (front) to distinguish this front-mounted engine 170 from the rear-mounted engine 170H. Parallely to the range of sedans, a roadster and two convertibles were sold. This 2-seater Cabriolet A is a rarity, since only 794 units were manufactured.
