In August 1972, VW introduced the 1303: it was the last visible change on the famous Beetle. The latter had already been renamed 1302 in 1971, with new suspensions and an enlarged trunk. The 1303 added a curved windscreen and a rearranged dashboard. The Convertible was equipped with a 1.6-litre engine (50 hp). Karmann was in charge of its assembling.
