This rebodied Mercedes W120, transformed to a right-hand drive, was produced between 1956 and 1958 and made for South Africa, where pick-ups are called bakkies. Some were manufactured by the German coachbuilder Binz. Others, such as here, were locally assembled, allowing Mercedes to expand its distribution, since utility vehicles were less subject to quotas than cars.
