This unusual Volkswagen produced from 1964 to 1974 was designed at the request of the German postal service. Nicknamed Fridolin, the Type 147 borrowed parts from VW production models, and was also used by other companies, such as the Automobile Club of Germany (here). The coachbuilder Franz Knoble & Sohn GmbH, which became Westfalia, manufactured the 6,139 units produced in 10 years.
